Brother Gregory Cellini, O.S.F., is a Franciscan Brother of Brooklyn whose life purpose, rooted in the Gospel and a Franciscan charism of continuous conversion, is to share the good of God’s love and inspire others to live fearlessly in this love.
Brother Greg’s primary ministry is at St. Francis College in Brooklyn, New York, where he is Director of the Office of Mission, Ministry and Interfaith Dialogue. He is the host of Thank God for Monday, a weekly radio show focused on issues of the workplace, as well as the author of the book Transform Yourself – Transform the World: A Franciscan View of Career.
Brother Greg is a staff member of Franciscan Pilgrimage Programs, where he assists lead pilgrimages to parts of Italy. He is currently involved in Franciscan Month, an effort to have the month of October designated as such.
In this episode, Brother Greg brings his infectious Franciscan joy to a range of topics, including the “kissing the leper” moment that led to the discovery his vocation after a 29-year career in big pharmaceuticals, overcoming the temptation to self-assertion with the grace of self-giving, and why we should seek to be a church “that’s beautiful in its simplicity.” Brother Greg also shares his key question for spiritual direction, his thoughts about the importance of storytelling as a means of religious dialogue, and his belief that “in 2026, the San Damiano Cross is talking to each one of us.”
